Benitses: This coastal town is on the south east coast about 12 kilometers from Corfu town.The land for sale is a further three kilomteres to the south. Benitses has, over recent years, become a popular tourist area and now has a new marina which permits yachts and motor boats to moor very close the town centre. IMPORTANT LAND PURCHASE ISSUES
 
  1. If the land m2 are close to the minimum required (for example the land is 2100 m2 and 2000 m2 is required) it is advisable to have a second and independent land survey carried out.
  2. Check the m2 that are legally permitted to be built on the land.
  3. Always make sure (through your lawyer) that the land is not registered as “forest” in which case building is not permitted.
  4. Check the road access to the land. This could be the subject of dispute with a neighbour and/or expensive to construct.
  5. Check the distance to access water and electricity as this too may be expensive to bring on site.
